This job is interviewing me for three different depts at different dates and times. How can I get them to speed up the process? One dept I don't care for at all and would rather skip it if it will speed up time. One I really want but the hours don't work, how can I re negotiate hours? How can I make the employer spped up b/c I have to take time off of current job. I went to a scheduled interview yesterday and they cancelled as I got there. I want to give 2 week notice to other employer but I cannot afford to be off. New job has mandatory oreintation that is a week long and I need to get through it before classes start in August. Also,I have eight years of experience at their competitor (who is better) how can I negotiate for more money than the basic shift diff,or weekend diff. This isa health care position.
I just got hired on at a new job got lots of questions.?
You probably can't speed things up too much. However, if you already know you don't want some areas - tell them. They will respect you more if you go for what you really want than if you waste their time interviewing and then say - nope, don't want it. In fact, if you waste their time, you might get nowhere at all. Departments do talk to each other.
Reply:as an employer, I can tell you that most hours are NOT negotiable. Also, you cannot speed up an employer, just make them mad by trying to get things your way.
Reply:Let them decide how fast the interview process goes. You are asking for the job; you have no say in how soon you get it-- if you even do. Being pushy or bossy while asking for anything will usually get you nothing at all. You have been duly advised...
Reply:Sounds like all your wanting to do is negotiate to make everything work for you, which doesnt happen when getting a new job, so you would be better off going to their competetor.
